About this forum
Semi Truck Owners Forum opened in November 2025 for people who own the truck they drive, or are about to. Sleeper tractors mostly: Peterbilt 389 and 579, Kenworth W900L and T680, Freightliner Cascadia, Volvo VNL, International LT, Mack Anthem. Own authority and leased on both welcome, and nobody here will tell you one of them is the only right answer.
It is run by Glenn A., who posts as mod_glenn_a. Glenn drove 28 years, the first eleven for a flatbed carrier and the rest on his own authority, and these days he runs regional flatbed in a 2017 Kenworth T680 with an MX-13 and a 10 speed so he can sleep at home most nights in Springfield. He reads the contact mailbox himself, usually before his first load.
What it costs
The server runs about ten dollars a month and the domain was twelve for the year. Glenn pays both. The forum is member-run: there is no advertising, no recruiter money and no affiliate code in any link, and nobody has paid for a thread or for a post in one. If that ever changes it will say so on this page before it shows up anywhere else.
House rules
- Truck in the first line: year, make, model, engine, transmission, rough miles. Without that, people are guessing.
- On the buying board, say what you paid. That board only works if the numbers are real.
- If you recruit for a carrier, sell insurance, factor freight, work at a dealer or broker loads, say so in your posts. Hiding it gets you removed.
- No load posts, no driver wanted posts, no trucks for sale in threads.
- No ELD mandate politics. Argue about 18 speeds versus automated boxes all you like.
- Mods move posts to the right board and leave a note where they were. Threads get locked rarely, and always with a reason written in them.
- Accounts are by email request while the spam is bad.
What this is not
Not a carrier, not a law office and not the FMCSA. When somebody here quotes you a regulation, a brake limit or a filing deadline, check it with the agency that wrote it before you bet a load on it.
